Hello, I’m Ethel Changa, creator of the Bridge Crisis Conversation Toolkit™ and the Chance to Listen™ Campaign. This work began with one moment on a bridge, when I spoke the words to a distressed individual:
“Please, can you give me a chance to listen to what got you here?”
That simple act of presence became a turning point, not just for the person I spoke with, but for me too. It showed me that offering a safe space to listen can be lifesaving.
Alongside this lived experience, I bring over 25 years in the NHS as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and with senior leadership experience across healthcare. My work now brings together compassion, practical tools, and professional expertise to support others in moments of crisis and to enhance wellbeing in everyday life.
Through ListenWell Alliance CIC, I am committed to building resources, campaigns, and a Community of Practice where healthcare professionals, corporate leaders, educators, and community members can learn, share, and strengthen a culture of listening.
This isn’t just my story, it can be ours. Join me in making listening a practice that saves lives and strengthens wellbeing.
